it means the ability for your brain to bounce back, like when u get an injury. or also the quickness you learn something. for example..when a person gets elderly, it will be harder for them to learn something new...hence the term "babies' brains are like sponges..they soak up everything." the younger u are the more elasticity you have in your nuerons.
