Question:

What does the world is my oyster mean?

What does this saying actually mean? I've heard it used in a number of contexts and am still unsure as to its true meaning. Is it that you are shaped by your environment? Is it that even something as small and insignificant (you) as a grain of sand can become something brilliant and rare (the pearl)? Or am I completely wrong?

  1. it means that the world is at your desposal. all in a small shell just ready to be explored. like the shell of an oyster and seeking the precious pearl.
