What does that mean to you in your own words?

I have to write a paper and I need different peoples opionions on what they mean so that is why I keep asking questions like these.

  4. The secular definition is to permanently deprive someone of their possession(s).

    With regard to God's law the matter is much more complex and not only includes stealing material things but tends to add up to something like refusing to give due recognition to God's will.

    Nevermind. It's pretty simple: you don't own it, don't take t without consent of the owner.

It is really hard to explain a simple statement other than to say what it says.  Obviously the Hebrew culture was like many others in that they valued personal property, thus to take what belonged to another was considered wrong.  Other cultures have different views on this and allow for "borrowing" others' property or even "stealing" it as long as the theft meets certain conditions.
