And I'll grow a little bigger. Maybe that can be my goal.

Does 'that' mean " I'll grow a little bigger"?

*this sentences are from the song "keep yourself alive" by Queen.

And I ate a million dinners

Brought to me on silver trays

Give me everything I need

To feed my body and my soul

And I'll grow a little bigger

Maybe that can be my goal

  1. i think its pretty obvious that growing a little bigger is 'that' goal!

  2. The goal is "to grow a little bigger" as was answered before "that" definitely refers back to growing bigger.

But, because of the preceding lines I think it means not necessarily bigger in body but perhaps mainly in soul. In English, to have a big heart means to be generous, caring, etc. In short, to have enough emotional energy to allow you to let many people into your heart. In the context of the rest of the song, it seems the songwriter is implying that a goal of material success in and of itself is not so important but that gaining a bigger soul could be a worthy aspiration.

  3. Written by Fred "Mercury"

A fine artist of the musical profession, but as g*y as you get, lost a lot of weight from HIV /AIDS

I guess that he is refering to dying, instead of wasting away.

    As he did.

A sad loss to fine music.

  4. Hahah I'm a huge Queen fan... I've always wondered what that line meant.

Maybe "that" would be growing bigger, or feeding his body and his soul.

Or maybe there was no goal and he just needed something to rhyme with "soul".

    Or keeping himself alive.

    Who knows. xD

To the "Bob" guy... The song was written in or around 1973, I don't think he had AIDS then. ._.
