  1. Marx also espoused the Labor Theory of Value, which says that the value of anything is equal to the total of the value of the Labor that produced it.

That means two watches coming off an assembly line together have the same value, despite the fact that one of them doesn't work.

I find that Marx was pretty good at making phrases that sounded really smart, but really weren't.

  2. The industrial executives of the time did not give their workers any practical skills to move themselves up. This is of course in addition to the fact that few people had a comprehensive, formal education, especially if born into a lower or rural class. Workers were kept docile, and were thus boxed into their difficult, low-paying jobs for their entire lives. Thus the bourgeoisie achieved two things: they maintained the safety of their own positions and they exploited the manpower of the job-desperate proletariat.

  3. Marx who is know as the philosopher for communism is taking a "pot shot" at capitalism and the slogan " the rich get richer while the poor get poorer".

  4. Quite simple: Not teaching people how to grow/find/catch what they need, will allow you to sell it to them for a lot of money. When you do teach them, they take care of themselves and you won't make as much money off them anymore. In third world countries, this basically mean: "Stop GIVING them help of all kinds, but teach them how to help themselves."

That's basically Marx' filosofie, not that people would have to go hungry or anything, but that we should help them by teaching them how to grow certain crops, how to fish, ... so they won't need food sent over from our side but can take care of themselves. Give people their pride instead of treating them like beggars.

  5. I've read Marx and I don't recall that one.

  6. for capitalism to flourish no one can be self sufficient, everyone must be dependant on others for goods and services ,for which they are willing and able to exchange money.

  7. If the man can get fish himself you will not be able to sell him fish everyday.

  8. in short, dont ever make a person clever. he will bring no good to yourself!
