Customers were offered free condoms and pole dancing kits when they bought Vodka Cruisers. These sickly-sweet "alcopops" are typically consumed by underage girls.

((By the way, I apologise unreservedly for the crassness of my fellow Australians who dreamed up this idea.))

  1. I'm all about proper condom use, but this is just pushing it.

  2. It sounds like the up bringing and parenting of these young girls who are consuming this as underage drinkers is the problem, not they young (legal) women who drink it responsibly.

The people who made this are responsible for their own actions and huge lack of judgment, not the consumers.

  3. Is this what happens when they grow up?

  4. Unfortunately the alchol companies are a big part of the drinking culture. This particular campaign is directed at young girls but for many years men have been dying on average 10-15 years earlier than women and this is attibuted to their lifestyles of drinking, smoking and greater exposure to toxins. I believe Australia has a culture feed through football and the media that promotes a big expectace of drinking and if you don't you are  frowned upon.

  5. What is wrong with selling alcohol with sexism? s*x is often performed under the influence of alcohol. s*x lowers inhibitions; thus s*x occurs might as well be protected from unwanted pregnancy and STDs and HIV. God!

  6. That is simply amazing. And I thought Americans were disgusting-thanks for making me feel better. I'd say the ad displays a low opinion of young women. s*x education is one thing but pole dancing kits?

  7. It tells me the people on the staff that created this ad consisted of mainly males and if any females were present, they had to have been L*****n. ;-)

  8. Everyone makes mistakes.  No one's perfect whether they be American or Australian.

The promotion was really off, am glad that they got rid of it.

  9. Hi Z! I'll just have a Crusier and Oh, yeah, a box of Durex, please! Some of my friends can always use them, lol!

Now let's see, what am I gonna do with a Lil Minx pole kit? OH I know!

Who is the Managing Director of that candy booze maker? ;)

Edit: Curly..think Smirnoff Ice or a Baccardi Breezer. You know the kind of sweet c**p that girls like because it covers the high alcohol content taste? Kinda like that.

  10. Australia is quite a feminised country and this is par for the course . my australian baby moma encourages my 5 year old daughter to present herself in a sexual way, it's not very nice to hear your 5 year old describing herself as s**y.

i am opposed to the misandry that is rampant in australian culture. many of my married male friends there are getting little respect from their controling partners. ads on tv depict men in a way that is damaging for young boys.

great country though, the sheilas are very friendly and forward, especially to a guy with an "accent"!. ive attended schoolies and the car racing thing in surfers twice, i met a girl in a bar in surfers and within half an hour we were having s*x, at the bar.

EDIT, no i am not, i have done a bit of traveling and because i get on well with women, feel that i am entitled to make comparisons. i do not blame australia, i blame feminism and the likes of Greer.

  11. I have never seen the likes of this anywhere else before.

    Wow.

I wasn't aware vodka was a dessert, like ice cream or sherbert.

And I like the way the blame went on 'junior staff' that it somehow 'slipped through the net'.

I heard ages ago that Australia was quite a sexist society (but assumed Australia had grown up in the meantime).

Guess I was wrong about that.
