Question:

What does this dream, about being trapped by a molester teacher, mean in my life?

In this dream I was in school (high school), in detention or something, and a teacher had all of us students locked in the classroom. He was a creepy guy and he was saying that if any of us tried to escape, that “bad things would happen to us.” And he would touch and molest the girls. And everyone would try to escape, but they couldn’t. Two kids did escape, but they came back... and I don’t know why they did. And when they did escape, why didn’t they send help? And the weird thing was, was that everyone in the school knew we were in there, but no one would help. Even the cafeteria ladies served us food, and wouldn’t help. And there were spiders on the desks, and I was very scared, and uncomfortable.

  1. Your dream is a typical dream that young ladies of school age frequently have. It contains all of the scary items that are common for young ladies to have nightmares about starting with the creepy guy.

Naturally he keeps you guys locked in the classroom but on top of that it's also typical that he molests and touches the girls.

There is also the drama of two kids escaping and just when you were going to applaud them they come back on their own for no apparant reason.

There is also the people who wouldn't (or couldn't) help you. Something you left out of the story but I'll bet you still dreamed was the darkened room. If the room wasn't darkened the dream wouldn't be scary.  Spiders - typical girl thing. (No offense)

So what should you do? Step one: evaluate how much the dreams scare you and if it's really bad I suggest seeking out a counselor qualified to deal with younger folk. Step two: If it's not too scary or you are now out of school let it all slide till school starts again. It may just be a passing fad.

  2. Be afraid of the creepy gym teachers at your school...and try to not get detention!

  3. Maybe it could mean that you're living someone else's view of how your life should be, instead of you being in charge of your own life and choosing how to see yourself.

I think that spiders are symbolic of being trapped or stuck (I had dreams of spiders when I was at a time in my life when I felt "stuck").  As for the two kids escaping and then coming back - this could represent the need to break out and let your authentic self shine though, but at the same time there's fear of the unknown if you do this, which could explain why the girls came back and why the cafeteria ladies wouldn't help.

I realize that going through school and society's expectations can often make it feel like you can't breathe, like you don't have the opportunity to come into your own and figure yourself out.  This comes with time.  Just know this - that YOU are in charge of your life, every aspect.

    Peace be with you.
