Dan: I don't go clubbing

Alice: How old are you?

Dan: Thirty-five.

Alice: Half-time?

Dan: Thank you very much.

Question being - what does Alice's line "Half-time" mean??? It is driving me batty!

  1. IT IS A REFERENCE TO THE TERM "QUARTER LIFE" FOR PEOPLE AROUND 20 OR SO = A QUARTER  OF THE WAY INTO THEIR ENTIRE LIFETIME.

    SHE IS BASICALLY SAYING TO DAN - "YOUR LIFE IS HALF OVER BECAUSE YOU ARE 35."

    THE AVERAGE MALE LIVES TO BE ABOUT 70 - 75.

    HE IS BEING SARCASTIC WHEN HE SAYS

    "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" BECAUSE SHE JUST KINDA INSULTED HIM....
