Question:

What does this giant strawberry w/ vines reaching out and grabbing people mean?

When I was five I kept having the same dream; I would live in this happy little town, with some characters from the soap operas my mom would watch (ha ha!), and there was this giant strawberry in the middle of town. It was on a pedestal and everything, and every once in a while, these really long vines would come out from them and grab people and put them in the strawberry, and then no one would ever see them again. So everyone would try to hide and stuff. I looked up strawberries and they're supposed to mean happiness, but it was a scary dream, so it doesn't make sense. I always like to figure out my dreams by determining what everything symbolizes, but I've never been able to figure this out. Please help!

  1. It sounds to me like an amazing insightful short film.

If strawberries are happiness, but the "happiness" occasionally tears into our society (taking friends/loved ones to feed itself)...

Well, it sounds to me like it is saying "Happiness comes at a price." While your dream-happy-town is full of happy people and smiling times, it cannot be without fear and sadness, because without occasional fear and sadness, the giant strawberry could not eat, and then the happiness would go away and everything would be... blah.
