What does this light mean on my dashboard?

I drive a 99 chevy cavalier, and when I got it a couple years ago it did not come with a drivers manual. Anyway, I noticed one of the lights occasionally flashes on while I'm driving, but then a second later flashes back off. It's been doing that for like 2-3 days now. It's on the left side of the wheel and it looks like the shape of a tank, with a squiggly line at the bottom (to signify water? gas? ?? oil?)and has an arrow inside it that points down. This is easy 10 points for you car people out there!

  1. If you could get us a picture, that would help a lot! lol. I'm sorry, but I'm not as familiar with Chevy's as much as other cars.

My GUESS would be your low fuel idiot light if its anywhere near the gas gauge.

I doubt that it's the low oil pressure gauge, but i would check your oil level (do a google search to learn how).

  2. it maybe a coolant sensor in the rad. going bad. i am sure you ran out of washer fluid since you owned the ride

  3. check your windshield washer fluid

  4. yea its coolant

    thats the symbol gm uses

    should look like this

  5. It's a low coolant light. Check the level in the coolant bottle and top it off if it's low. If it's empty then you might want to start looking for leaks.
