  1. It means your mother has more influence over you than the church


  2. Very simply, it means that children should be raised by _their parents_ NOT a third party (such as school, local community, etc)

  3. Relationships with your family however small, are worth more than relationships with the public.

  4. It means that in your life, a little bit of your mother's influence matters more than a lot of the church's influence.  Which makes sense, since she knows you a lot better and you're around her a lot more.
