  1. Its correct it means floor level one, flat 1a

  2. Yes it is correct. I lived in Spain for 10 years and it is used to tell you what floor of an appartment the person is on.

  3. It looks not as weire as an UK adress. It is only the shortening of 1st (o-male form) and first (a-femal form)

  4. First floor, or first level in an apartment or office block

  5. That means, in a building, the first floor (1º - piso primero) and the appartment labeled as "1st" (1ª - primera puerta). Probably in england or the U.S. that would be 1A.

  6. Yes. They are shorthand for primero and primera - "first". Primero being masculine and primera feminine.

I live in Spain and that's an okay part of the address.

  7. 1º reffers to the flat is in the first floor and 1ª reffers to the door is the first floor and the first door.

  8. Good question.

You have it wrong unfortunately. It should read 1ª, 1º.

That is primera planta (first floor), primer piso ( flat one).

    So C/ Mayor 96, 3ª, 2º, is High Street number 96, 3rd floor , flat 2.

I find, from experience, that for UK purposes it is better to say Calle Mayor 96 - 3- 2 because that works with most UK accounting systems.

Sorry but I think that all the others have it wrong. The floor (f)comes first, then the flat (m) number, Floor  /planta is feminine, flat / piso is masculine. Sorry to be pedantic, but it is important to get addresses correct or your letters will not arrive.
