What does this mean? explain?

When people ask you the question below, what does it mean?

" What is (are) the defining moment(s) of your life?"

Basically, it's asking for stuff that's happened in your life that have caused major changes. Like graduating from high school, getting married, having a kid, getting a job; etc.

the defining moments in your life would be maybe one minute or one event that changed you or made you think about something differently.  Maybe the death of a loved one, or something someone said that made you change your life.

Answer 3

What events in your life really determined where you are at today?  Maybe you took one particular job over another and it led to great things; or maybe you met your future husband/wife due to a particular circumstance.

It can generally mean the highlights of your life but "defining" seems to indicate the moments that actually made your life unfold the way it has and made you the person you are.
