What does this mean in New Moon?

okay sorry for asking about it againn! im just curious and i dont want to miss a single thing about this book so here my question:

when bella and edward get back from Italy they start talking and Edward talks about how he felt with out her and blah blah blah and then bella says "tracking wasnt a distraction then?" what does she mean by 'tracking'? and then she says even if emmet and jasper had helped him.. helped him get Victoria? does she mean that even with jasper and emmet there they would never get victoria down?the pages are 515-517.

    The term tracking in the book meant  was for one vampire to follow another vampire/ human and to usually kill them . Victoria's mate was killed by Edward in the first book, Twilight, when Victoria's mate wanted to kill Bella. Victoria in order to get revenge tried to kill Bella to get revenge on Edward . Edward tried to occupy his time by tracking Victoria when he left Bella. Also, when Bella said that even with Jasper and Emmet's help Edward could never get Victoria, it was because Victoria was in her town, and the werewolves were after them. I hope you get it now.
