  1. CT Scan means -

Computed tomography (CT) is a medical imaging method employing tomography.

Digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation.

The word "tomography" is derived from the Greek tomos (slice) and graphein (to write).

Cranium means Skull ( And the brain within !!!!)

To understand the " Axial section " ( A sectional view passing through the central axis of the skull ) kindly click the link below --

Now for  "Contiguous 5 mm  slices "-

It means a number of sectional views as mentioned above at a distance of every  5 mm ( 5 millimeters ).

Each view ( Read tomographic section ) is separated from the next by 5mm.

This is to see what is the spread of the diseased ( If Any ) part in the brain .
