  1. That symbol is for British pound sterlings (or just pounds), their monetary unit. Since it's 0.01, it means 1 penny, or 1p.

    The first number before the decimal is pounds, the numbers after the decimal are pence (plural for penny).


  2. e is for is for euro thats united kingdom money 0.01 is about .02 cents in  US

  3. I do not think it means anything.

    The English pound was made up of shillings and pence.

    12 pence = 1 shilling

    20 shillings = 1 pound.

    The  money in question is written in decimals which did not apply to the English pound.
