What does this motto mean?

But your motto means  striving for the greatest results in situations sets your mind on the right road.  The opposite being, If you are expecting failure you will achieve failure.

Once you do achieve "excellence", then you should be happy with yourself for getting there, and happy with the road, and the right attitude that got you there.
