What does this on the car does???

The thing in the car. Its the thing you move to make the car go into park, drive, reverse, and the other 1(sorry but i don't know what its called) And When you have to move that stick thingy, you have to push the button to make the stick to move. but there is a button UNDER the first 1(there's 2 buttons) what does the second 1 do???

Shift lock release?OD switch?What year,make and model though?That stick thingy is called transmission shifter.

Without knowing what mfgr/model and year no one can say for sure, but I'd guess its either sport mode which retards the shift points for faster acceleration, OR its the passenger seat eject button.

It's the Overdrive ON/OFF switch.

It sounds like you are talking about a button on your stick shift that is not used for changing into drive.  Depending on the vehicle it could be the tow button (Trucks), it could be the overdrive off and on button (Toyota), or it could be the sports drive button (supposed to make it accelerate faster)(Honda).  Either way need to know the model.
