  3. Uhhh... actually I'm not sure what it means EXACTLY.. but I know that when someone says "I lost a chip on my shoulder", it means I lost a part of me... :P

  4. Looking for a fight.  At one time a custom was to put a piece of wood (chip) on your own shoulder and dare your opponent to knock it off.  If your opponent did, then you had a fight; if not, you could call him a coward.
