  1. Something (most likely Malware) has been installed on your computer and is trying to change it to something other than what you have now.  It is trying to change the default page and/or the default search engine your computer uses.  The default page is the page that is there when you open IE.  THe default search engine is the page that is loaded when you hit a page that has an error or doesnt exist.

Your best start is to read to this forum -

    http://www.castlecops.com/HijackThis.htm...

Which will walk you thru the tools listed -

One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches.  If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected.  It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers).  AV is ALWAYS reactive!

  3. You have been infected with a nasty malware (a virus is trying to modify some secure settings from your pc - Deny all!!), your security soft has failed to do it's job.

First do an online scan and clean with http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html AND http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/

Now it's time to replace that miserable insecurity software that you use; download the installers for

browser - http://www.opera.com/ - use this instead that malware magnet IE

    antivirus - http://www.avast.com/

    antispyware - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

    ................. - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...

    firewall - http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

They are all the best in their category and FREE.

Unplug the internet line, uninstall the junk and install these (if necessary in safe mode) one by one with each necessary reboot done.

Reconnect the line and update them (Spybot has it manual).

That's all. Now admire how fast and safe your pc is (only if you never use IE again).
