  1. you are controlled by outside forces and not in control of yourself. you let fate, chance, rulers, and crazy people rule your life, when you should be ruling yourself.

    Hope this helps!

  2. It's basically defining that you, as a general person, are only a pawn in a game of chess. You will have no say in what happens, and if you do get the choice, whatever happens, was supposed to. You will only do as you are told, and will always be shoved around by the higher power.

    That's a sure go-getter for happy. =)

  3. Free will is an illusion and you are controlled by people and forces more powerful than you.

  4. If you think that you are in control, you are sooooooooo wrong!  There are certain things that are completely beyond your control.

  5. John Donne, right?

You need some context for that quote. He's talking to *Death*. Basically, he's saying "Death, don't be so stuck on yourself. You aren't as great as you think."

It makes a *lot* more sense when you read the entire sonnet, instead of taking only a part of one line and trying to figure out the meaning of just that one phrase.

  6. it means you are not able to make your own decisions and steer your own life
