There is a bit different from the usual advice to do whatever it is you have a fancy to do because, later in life, you will regret not having tried it.  Here, the injunction is not to regret the failure rather than to avoid the failure to act.

they're telling u to take risks and do what you want and need to do despite what others think. don't let anything hold u back. do the right thing because if u don't, and u let people push u around and stop u from doing what's right in the situation, u will feel worse and regret it. regret is a tough feeling so if u do what's responsible u will feel proud of yourself if it was the right thing to do. that is not a mistake, that's being genuine. it would be sad to let something go because u were afraid to go after it, and u will regret that.
