  1. Interpreting quotes is hard, especially when you never really know what the author was honestly thinking at the time. But, this quote seems to be saying that living a life that constantly challenges you, gives you obstacles to face and mountains to climb can be the best kind of life. It can keep you grounded and always force a person to try their best and work hard, versus a life of laziness that lacks determination. The idea of being tested seems to relate to the quest to always ask questions, to seek other people's opinions, and to constantly be growing and changing with new information that comes along and both literally and metaphorically "tests" our willpower and ideals.

  2. Simply it means live and learn. Would you want advice from someone who had never been through what you were going through?

  3. i think it means that a hard life will help you learn and that later   you'll know what to do and how to help others.

  4. In order to grow and develop in every aspect of life, a person must face challenges. How can you learn anything if you are not tested or challenged? This reminds me of the saying "experience is the best teacher."
