what does this quote mean and how it regards to telling the TRUTHS in play THE CRUCIBLE by Arthur Miller?

i am so confuse on this one. Someone please help me.

The quote means that in order to be true to other people you must first be true to yourself - honest with yourself, like yourself, be proud of yourself, and do the things that are good for you, not the things that are bad for you.  That does not mean that you do things that are good for you if they  are hurtful to others.

    I have not ever read The Crucible, but there are a number of online study guides, and quite a few other resources on the web that can help you with this playl.  Most of them have quite a bit of good information.  Have a look at these sites, and you should get some help with your work.  If you do a search here in the Yahoo Answers search window you will find many other sources of help as quite a few questions have been asked here about The Crucible.
