  1. What do you think?  It seems pretty self evident if you just think about it for a minute.

  2. DUH

  3. If you say mean things to people it may come back at you. So say "sweet and soft" things to them so what you get back is like that.

  4. Do your research, before you put it down on paper,

because, what you have put down in black and white.

    May be totally wrong. <}:-})

  5. Dont talk alot of c**p in case you are wrong and it gets thrown back in your face.

  6. like when u talk to other people dont say mean stuff cuz u mite regret it

  7. if you say something bad - about someone, you might find yourself in a similar place one day and you will get the same treatment and words

  8. Say nice things, because if you don't, the mean things you say might some day come back to haunt you.

  9. it means dont say rude or mean things because one day when you are least expecting it ,it those words will come back to you

  10. be carefull of what u say cos it may come a day that u will regret it...maybe it will come against u

  11. that sometimes things you say can come back and bite you in the butt!

  12. if you would have to admit that you WERE indeed WRONG, and have to apologize, wouldn't it be easier to say ( and swallow) 10 terrible hurtful, hateful words) than maybe 100 terrible, hurtful, hateful words? You could just end up choking on 'them there words 'and die.

  13. meaning keep your words true in case you have to do what it says.

  14. If you want to tell someone something, don't be blunt and rude....you might be wrong. At least if you tell them nicely but are wrong, it won't be so bad for you.

  15. it means something like don't insult or say something you don't mean because you may regret it..

  16. It means Be nice and have manners and don't get mad at people for stupid things keep you words loving and sweet

  17. it means watch what you say...say nice things, because those words or sumthing else may just come back to bit u n the butt!

  18. Its the same as

' do to others what you would want them to do to you'

:) Ok... That came out wrong.

It means, when you say something to someone, be sure you can handle it when someone says it to you.... i think..

  19. Don't doubt too much because you might end up being the one looking like a fool. Or something similar to that...

  20. let's do it part by part

"to eat one's words"    means that you have to take back something you said, or to apologize, or to be shown publicly wrong.

"soft and sweet words" can include everything from being polite, to not being insulting to others, to not using vulgar language"

    ===============================

so the phrase you quoted is sort of advice, sort of a warning - to not make a big huge deal, not be insulting, etc. because something may happen that causes you to regret those words.

    EXAMPLE

    ========

If you had a job interview in the afternoon and REALLY cussed someone out at lunch who accidentally bumped into you....

You might find after lunch that this person was interviewing you for the job and would make the decision about whether you got hired or not.

what your starting pay would be, etc.

that would be a case where you would have to "eat your words"

in order to try to get the person to consider you for the job, after the way you acted at lunch to him/her

  21. Be careful what you say to people beacuse one day you may find yourself in that same situation, then those same "nasty" words would apply to you.

  22. I think it means,

If someone doesn't do something right, don't criticize them with mean words because you may do something very similar soon. You need to understand that everybody makes mistakes, and if you make fun of someone or criticize them for them then most likely you'll get the same treatment.

  23. Once I moved to a VERY small town and one of the first ladies I met said to me" Be careful of what you say around here. Everyone is related to, or having relations with, everyone else."

Don't you like to eat soft and sweet things ice cream-candy-pudding) rather than bitter or poisonous things(cactus-bugs-antifreeze?

If you say mean or unkind things, wouldn't they be harder to confess than if you spoke kindly of others?

You never know who is listening or who is someone's cousin/brother/uncle.

Treat everyone as if they were members of your family---that you like.

Gossip hurts everyone-even if it is true. Be careful what you say, every time.

  24. this means be careful what you say, you might have to take those words back...be totally wrong about what you said.  so i would suggest that you don't pour salt on anyone, you might have to swallow it later.

  25. It means if you tell something to someone in a harsh way, and it turns out that you were wrong about what you said - you would then have to 'eat' your words, so be careful about what and how you say things to others, for if you have to eat the words you don't want them to be bitter.

  26. When you "eat your words" its because you said something that came back around to bite you in the *** later on.

So this quote would be warning you to watch what you say - and don't say anything that could come back around to hurt you or get you in trouble.

  27. It means don't think your self high and might to someone else and say somthing you'll regret incase they prove you wrong
