"Humans might be smart, but there is little evidence that we are by nature “economically rational,” that is, that human nature drives people to maximize their independent welfare by accumulating as many material goods as possible."

Please explain in about two sentences how this quote reveals a theme, aspect of history, society, or economics.

  1. Basically it's all about power and wealth.

    Historically, kings and queens, the community, have killed willingly for money.

    Society always thinks highly of those with more wealth than the poor. We have always been better off rich anyway.

    Economically, what is there to say? ^^
