I think it means that you're making a big deal out of nothing because you're so consumed with jealously. It blinds you. And then you begin to imagine all sorts of situations in your head that just aren't true. And as these imaginary thoughts float through your mind, eventually you're going to convince yourself that they're true, even if they aren't. You're making a mountain out of a mole hole.
