  1. I think your answer might be found in the public relations of the Third Reich. One of the big shot n**i's said that, in essence, that if you say something enough times, no matter how false and stupid it might be, the more likely it will be believed. I suppose governments everywhere do the same thing. Tell the people (big lie) how great and wonderful they are and the more likely they'll just take your word for it without analyzing your words (small lie).


  2. A mass (group of people) of course will be affected by a rumor or a big lie but if it is only a gossip, it won't.

  3. i think that relates to atheism and there stance on religion, they consider all religion to be a big lie that everyone is being deceived by made up mystical being called "god" in order to control the masses, even though Adolf Hitler was the one to quote it the atheists adopted it.
