my dad asked me to google it this morning but i cant find anything. i cant make the sign exactly how it looks. but we have a non-dairy milk carton and it has a capital U in a circle and a smaller capital D. what does it mean. my dad thinks it probably means that there may be some kind of dairy in the product but none of us are sure. its quite unnecessary seeing that none of use are affected by the milk but still what does it mean?

  1. I found what you are talking about on my milk also.  It is very small (about the size of the R that you see meaning registered trademark. And is also in about the same place under the name on front.  I'm no expert but I doubt it has anything at all to do with the product itself.  (mine is regular milk, not non-dairy).  It probably has more to do with the company, brand name, patents, or something.

  2. Midnight is right, 'U' is a symbol for kosher food items.  Meaning, it has certification from the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations.  I would assume that the 'D' means dairy.

  3. I think it means its kosher milk.
