Question:

What does this word say on the passenger manifest???

need help reading what this says. It's line 1 (Zsofia Kusnyir). What does it says in column 11? I can read Davidfalva, Bereg, Hung. but what does the rest say?

Horvath? Hxxxx? What is the word right before Davidfalva??? (next to the crossed out section)

  1. It looks like "musket" to me, but i'm not 100% sure. I've just read another report on the same manifest, and they think the word may be "mother"


  2. Above Daviafalva, it is Horvath He__ia ?

    I think it might be a continuation of the place name which carries across from10 because it begins with a small letter.

    I now think Donkey might be right, if you compare the 'ath' of Horvath, it could be m'oth'er ! Although it does not tie in with the family name in 2, unless it is the wife's mother !

    If the same word repeats in other entries, then it probably is 'mother'.
