What does /thread mean on messageboards?

i have seen people type /thread at the end of replys, what does it mean

  1. They are saying (probably with humorous intent) that their post should be the last word on the topic at hand.  Much like "/rant" or "/soapbox" - the forward slash means "end" and is a reference to computer coding.


  2. Topic forum.. or a message board, the inside of a topic talking about the messages.

  3. Thread means a topic for discussion. It is so called because there will

    be series answers and arguments going on like a thread for that topic, and exchange of ideas - unlike Yahoo Answers.
