What does toushite mean?

I know shite is a form of suru but I have no idea what the tou is.

Here's an example:

Terebi anime o miru toki wa, heya o akarukushite* chikazukisuginai* toushite mite kudasai ne.

*I'm not sure if those words need to be broken up. I'm not familiar with them.

**A translation of words would be extremely helpful also.

  1. It means

when you are watching anime, keep your room bright( as in the lights like lamps on), dont go so near the screen, and watch the tv from a far distant.

chikazukisuginai means dont go too near it

    toushite means far

  2. The times I watch anime, the room is cheerful they don't come near and so on... please look.

akaruku shite= cheerful (adv + verb)

Chikazuki suginai= come near by (negative)

  3. haha,

none of the translations are correct.

Terebi anime wo miru toki wa, hey wo akaraku shite chikazukisuginai tou shite mite kudasai ne.

Anime is katakana version for animation or cartoon.

"When you are watching cartoons, please brighten the room and don't sit too close."

  4. -toushite = doing this

    It says

When watching anime on television make sure the room is brightly lit, and don't sit too close to the television please.

    broken down:

    chikazuku - closely

    sugi - too much

    nai - not or don't

    toushite - doing this

    mite - watching

which is why that means "Don't get too close while watching"

Edit: Toushite doesn't mean far, "far" is 'tooi' not 'tou'.
