2.To work obsessively or compulsively on something.

    3.To adjust something.

4.To be way wrong about something

  3. It has a couple of meanings.

You can "tweak" something, meaning that you give it a slight adjustment.   If something isn't working just right, it may need to be tweaked.

You can be "tweaking" meaning that you are figity or nervous.  People are called tweakers that are on meth.   You can be tweakin before a big exam.  You can be tweakin before a blind date.    You can be tweakin from too much caffine.

Or, you can be tweakin, if you are cold, and your nipples are errect (not being crude...that is what it is called).

    So there ya go!

  4. Tweaking refers to fine-tuning or adjusting a complex system, usually an electronic device. Tweaks are any small modifications intended to improve a system.

In electronics, it is a synonym for "trimming." Analog circuit boards often have small potentiometers or other components on them that are used to calibrate or adjust the board as a service procedure: the small insulated screwdriver used to turn them is often called a "tweaker."

This use was echoed in the name of the product Tweek [sic], an audio product, popular during the 1980s (but controversial), which was claimed to improve the electrical characteristics of audio switch contacts.

    Hardware

Hardware tweaking is a process of modifying certain parts of a hardware such as changing the cables or cords, cleaning the heads of a VHS player with a branded cleaning fluid, oiling the moving parts of an engine with the best possible oil, etc.

These 'tweaks' are largely psychological, but their primary purpose is to engender a "warm and fuzzy" feeling of achieved perfection that will please the user despite the absolutely average result they really achieved. (This is quite common among audiophiles.)

    Computer hardware

Computer hardware tweaking is an extension of hardware tweaking, specifically geared towards the components of a PC. They include: changing voltage and clock rates of processing units, modifying RAM unit timing, improving cooling systems to reduce chance of overheating, etc.

Tweaks specifically designed to allow a processor to operate at a higher clock speed than normal are known as overclocking.

Modifications of computer systems not aimed at increasing performance, such as quieter fans, external controls, and decorations such as lights or windows, are known as modding.

    Software

Software tweaking is the process of improving the performance of an application or the quality of its output. There can be two ways of accomplishing this: manually (that is, if one is familiar with programming; though it may be irrelevant if the source of the application is closed, and there are no built-in means to adjust its performance) or using another piece of software specialized for that purpose (such as TweakXP[1] and SysTool[2], semi-automatic tweaking utilities used to improve the performance of Microsoft Windows XP. Tweaking of this kind generally increases usability, in terms of personal configuration preferences, rather than objective performance of the system overall). Linux and other open source products are designed to facilitate the tweaking process as much as possible, as opposed to Microsoft Windows which limits tweaking but allows it with provision, and Mac OS which largely prohibits or strongly discourages tweaking.

Some very precise applications need constant and thorough tweaking to stay up to date and deliver best possible results. One of the most obvious examples of such a fine tuning is LAME MP3 encoder, whose 3.9x branch is not only considered as the state-of-the-art MP3 encoder, [3] but also continues to shape the boundaries of the MP3 codec and stay competitive with its successors. Tweaking is a slang term to describe someone visibly under the influence of methamphetamine, sometimes pejoratively. Used as an adjective, someone who is tweaking is referred to as being "twacked". Chronic methamphetamine users are commonly known as tweakers and amongst users the drug itself is sometimes known as tweak. In some occurrences it can go so far as to be full blown Amphetamine psychosis.

    Definition

Tweaking is most often used by the general public to describe someone exhibiting pronounced symptoms of methamphetamine use, including punding (the repetitive performance of useless tasks), hyperactivity, an inhibited ability to relate socially, lack of appetite, inattention to bodily hygiene, exaggerated fidgetting, or formication (the false sense of things crawling on or under the skin).

Amongst amphetamine users it sometimes refers only to the negative effects of the drug's use; other times it may be used to describe being under the influence of the drug whether or not this is obvious to others. Users frequently report that the negative effects of methamphetamine use can be abated by remembering to eat, drink and bathe while under the influence, suggesting that the psychosis may sometimes be caused by sleep and food deprivation rather than by the drug directly.

The term may also refer to the effects of other (non-methamphetamine) stimulants, such as cocaine, amphetamine, methylphenidate or even caffeine.
