  1. you are supposed to collect as much as resource as you can by searching the relevant keyword in search engine,if you have good luck there, then your problem solved.however,if you could not find the fitful answer by doing that, here is the resource i prefered.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  2. Well, you'll have to check with your agent to be sure, but in most states, if the policy is in YOUR name, it will cover YOU, in whatever car you are riding in.

HOWEVER, if the person driving that other car is at fault, your insurance will then try to go back after them.   In some states, your coverage would be secondary, and in others, your coverage would be primary.  I'm not sur e what the law is for LA.

YOUR AGENT should be able to tell you, for sure.

  3. In general:

Insurance follows the car. If you are driving someone else's car and are hit by an uninsured motor vehicle -- then the uninsured motor vehicle on the car you were driving comes first.

If your injuries are so bad that the coverage on the car you were driving is not enough - then your policy will stack on top of the policy of the car you were driving.

Exactly how it will stack depends on the laws of your state.

Uninsured Motorist coverage can be very complex and it varies quite a bit from one state to the next.

Your best bet would be to speak with your agent. They should be able to give you a general idea of how it works.

  4. Uninsured motorist only covers damage done to your car by another driver who is uninsured (the uninsured motorist).  It does not cover any medical bills or persons.  Only your car.  And, is not transferrable to any other car you drive.  Just the one you insure.

It's a good idea to have it in case you are in an accident, wether your car is worth much or not, but also a good idea to purchase UNDERinsured motorist which is almost the same, but it covers the gap if the person who hit you doesn't have enough insurance to cover the damage.
