What does yahoo answers want from us?

To get to know us and analyze us by reading our questions and answers...so they can sell the informations to advertisers.

For Yahoo, a warm and fuzzy interest in furthering social communications between people has NOTHING to do with it. Their raison d'etre ( mission) is to discover our opinions, which they then weed out and sell to various venues including political ones... for profit, of course. Googling something is another good way to get info. and keep one's finger on the "pulse" of a person, a political stance, or a country. People pay BIG bucks to know what we Ya-hoos way out in here the hinterlands are thinking about all sorts of things.  And as Edith Ann said, "that's the truth."

I believe they want social interaction. This is what we do whether we like the comments or not. And some of those who are lonely and want someone to talk to and seek a connection with others.

If you mean "what do the people running Yahoo Answers want from us?", they want us to behave like civilized beings while exchanging information . . . .   Preferably in a way that drives up the value of Yahoo stock.

yahoo answers wants us to communicate with one another...especially for those "anti-social" ppl who are always home...this is a good way to get other ppls insight on personal and serious things that one might now ask some one they know!!!  i hope this is what you meant.lol...good luck!!

Your attention for the sake of selling advertisements!  Once here it is fine, but when you log into your e-mail they are ads everywhere!
