  1. I used to live in Miami so I have had cars stolen from me 3 different times!  All Mustang GTs; one stock and two modified to some extent. You feel violated! They found the cars all three times all completely chopped-up except for one. They put enough of that one back together without having to total it. I hated it; never felt the same as before and I fought the insurance company all the way with no success. The first time they stole my car the thief yanked the siren from the alarm out of the car and left it in the parking space where the car originally was. I can't describe what I felt then (a mix of shock, anger, embarassment and part of me thought it was funny how the thief left the alarm there).

But, you know, in the end they're just cars, man. Now, I have an 11-year old, old-man's sedan (nothing real special). I still like working on cars so I have put a lot of "love" into it. But I'm fairly confident that no one will steal it. And if they do...eh...no big deal, on to the next one.

  2. Ray a car is a huge investment. Yep it happened to me. I was sick in my stomach for two days. I was the smart one who went to work one day. And guess what?? I left the keys in the ignition. Yep only a half hr sitting there someone stole it. Right out from under neath me. How did I feel >>??? Sick and stupid. I left the keys in it. Dumb move. Then I was worried until they found it. Yes it is only a truck, but I invested a lot of money and time into it, Yep Not a good feeling.

  3. It sucks not driving a car that has a special place in your heart. The transmission blew in my old Cavalier so it's been sitting in the driveway for the past few years. Would've got it fixed but the other car my wife and I had at the time was nickel and diming us bigtime until it left me stranded for the 3rd and final time and I put a for sale sign in it. I miss driving my Cavy, the seat seemed to fit me like a glove since the very first test drive and she never ever left me stranded anywhere. I'm hoping to get her back on the road this year. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to put a few grand into getting her back on the road since it's a cavalier but I just wouldn't feel right if I left it stranded somewhere in a junkyard since it never left me stranded anywhere, plus it's cheaper than buying a new car and making payments.

  4. Well to me its just transportation and I take care of it like I would a person but if it was stolen, I would let the insurance take care of it and move on because life is to short to worry about this.
