What does your insurance company see points or the violation?

More or less for someone who works at an Insurance agency or knows the answer.

If one gets a speeding ticket in Ohio and it is 20 MPH and over (lets say 81 in a 55) it is only 2 points per OH law (first offense).

Does the insurance company see: a) only 2 points or B) 81 in a 55 c) both.

Thanks

  1. we see the violation.  we KNOW how many points each one is.

  2. The insurance company is Big Brother on steroids! They will see whatever item or combination of items that hikes your premium the most

  3. The insurance company sees everything.

  4. Insurance companies don't care about points, unless of course the points cause your license to be suspended.

Otherwise, they look at what type of violation (minor or major) and the conviction date.  So it will look something, more or less, like this:

01/01/2008- Speeding (minor violation) conviction date: 02/25/2008

    Edit:

Well, because you have had the same company for so long without any accidents or violations, there is a good chance they may not even check your MVR when your policy renews.
