  1. were you at fault? if you were then your insurance company will pay to repair the other persons car (liability) but not yours unless you have comprehensive/collision insurance.

if you were not at fault the other person's insurance will repair your car.

  2. Liability insurance generally only covers damaged external to your own vehicle and it's occupants.

  3. Liability covers the other car and passengers if you were at fault - if it was the other persons fault their insurance will cover your car and the passengers. If they do not have insurance and you only have liability and it was their fault - you will have to pay out of your pocket and go after them in court.

  4. If your policy is an "All risk policy" then injury to you, damage to your car and injury to third party are covered. But the co-passenger is not covered as per the latest rule of Supreme Court of India. If the copassenger should also be covered then this should be specifically mentioned in the Policy and extra premium should have been paid.

But if your policy is "Third Party" only  then injuries to third party, like  the other car involved injuries to third party will be covered. In that case your own injuries or damage to your car will not be covered.

  5. bodily injury and property damage

  6. Liability coverage covers property damage and bodily injury for the other person if you are at fault.

Liability coverage does not cover damage to your car or coverage for your injuries.
