Just wondering my daughter is 2 and i just wonder if her diets ok as there is so much pressure to get it right x

obviously it is a different main meal each day but it's roughly this ......

Breakfast - wheatabix, cornflakes or rice crispies (with milk) apple yogurt juice

snack - fortified cereal and raisins water to drink

lunch - sandwich cheese spread ,fruit, crisps 1/4 of a packet of organic children's crisps water to drink

Dinner home made stew,or curry, fish cakes, risotto or meat balls something like that with veg and rice or potato. If she eats dinner a cake and fruit.

supper before bed - a biscuit and milk

she is small for her age on the 9th line for weight and height.

Does that sound ok or am i missing something she needs thank a lot xx

  1. Sounds awesome to me! I think if your doctor will let you know if there are major concerns but I would be very pleased to have a toddler with such a well balanced diet!

  2. It sounds like she has a great diet - certainly better than my toddler, who is a picky eater. I would, however, say that she could probably do with another cup of milk earlier on in the day - she should still be drinking plenty of milk, especially if she is underweight.

    You're doing a great job, don't worry :-D

  3. well my daughter eats just about anything lol! she is in the 90th percentile for both height and weight!!!!!! her favorite food is chicken nuggets and apple dippers!!!

  4. avoid fruits with meal or after meals. give in between meals. food and fruits wont digest and nutrition of the fruits wont be absorbed in her body. give her oatmeal cereal in the morning.

  5. You are lucky your little one will eat that much!  My nephew only picks at his food and does not like to eat big meals.

She is getting enough food, maybe just try to add some more fruit and veg? If she won't eat it then make it fun, let her help you prepare it by washing and making it look like a face on a plate.

I think she is doing fine and is probably just going to be small.  many parents would love to get this much food into their child!

  6. I suppose, it's okay. Cheese spread? Ick!

She needs more veggies. She only has one serving. Give her carrots or celery with lunch. My children have veggies with lunch, dinner, and some snacks. They like them, because I raised them to. My kids eat what we eat, I don't make them another meal. It's been this way since they were about 1.5. If it was spicy, I would make them something else though.

  7. that sounds really good my daughter is 18 months and she is a big eater its pretty much all she does but she is really thin still but it is just because she is really energetic. if you do get a bit worried about her it doesn't hurt to get a doctors opinion.

  8. Breakfast: Honey Nut Cheerios w/ milk, Waffles, Pancakes, Eggs, & French Toast.

Lunch: Grilled Cheese, PB&J, & Fruit Snacks

Dinner: Chicken, Mashed Potato's, Corn, Veggies, & a half of a biscuit.

Snacks: Fruit, Goldfish, & a couple of mini oreo's (not that often).

sounds like you have the basic meal's covered...

PS she doesn't eat all of it at once, its what she has during the week.

  9. this is a really good set up menu for one day. What is also useful is if u research nurseries online and look at their menus and pinch some ideas. I work for a company that produces natural foods and delivers to children centres and nurseries around bristol, and they work off a 4 week menu. There are so many fantastic and easy to prepare meals you can do for children.

Your menu looks very good and your child is getting everything she needs from it too. but if you want other ideas then definatly have a look at nursery menus!

  10. Sounds to me like she has a wonderful diet.

I was always worried about my son's eating but after reading different article's etc they say not to make a big issue about food. Your daughter is eating 5 meals a day which is good, eating a good variety of food. She may be small for her age but this could be in the genes. All our bodies develop at different rates as long as shes fit and healthy with colour in her cheeks then your doing everything right.

My son isn't too fussy but we always want them to eat cooked veg but sometimes its texture that children don't like. He will eat raw veg no problems and they say that's better for them anyway.

  11. She sounds really healthy to me. Lots of toddlers are sooooo picky and it's hard to get them to eat anything at all!

  12. hey,

my 2yr old son eats just about the same as you have written accept with an extra cup of milk at lunch!

some children are just small for their age but if your hv hasnt raised any concern bout her height/weight then i wouldnt worry bout it!

  13. My son's diet consists of chicken nuggets, chicken nuggets and chicken nuggets.... he will not eat much more than that.  The doctor said is was fine, just wake sure he is getting enough milk too.  Your daughter is a great eater so don't worry about it - she is fine and you are doing a great job!

  14. my sister is a toddler- try give her a lot of milk n fruits chopped up...
