  1. I just wanted to agree with the folks that say vegans dont eat animal products, meat, dairy, poultry, fish, eggs, honey.

    for the record, I wanted to mention that human breast milk is vegan .. for babies !

  2. I'd just like to point out that you actually CAN have chocolate.  You can't have milk chocolate.  Cocoa powder and sugar makes chocolate.  You can taint it with milk if desired but it wouldn't be vegan.

  3. I heard they eat fake meat. o_o; its like, they put protein and stuff that people acquire from regular meat, and put it into fake meat

  4. Anything that comes from an animal or torture.

  5. Vegans don't eat anything of animal origin.  No meat, slaughter byproducts (like gelatin, rennet, meat stocks, lard, etc,) dairy products, eggs, or honey.

    What we DO eat is fruit, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, oils and everything made from them.

    Incidentally, we certainly can eat cake (which someone above claimed we can't) as long as it's made without animal ingredients, which is not only possible, but tasty.  And we certainly can eat chocolate, which is not "from milk" even though it often includes it; chocolate is a plant product and is perfectly vegan until someone adds milk to it.

    Someone also claims below that we can't eat yeast.  This is false.  Vegans believe that animals have the capacity for suffering, so we avoid animal products.  Yeast is not an animal.  It is a member of the fungi kingdom, just like mushrooms.  No evidence exists that fungi have the capacity for suffering, so vegans can indeed eat yeast.

  6. Food that comes from something with a face.

  7. You mean what does a vegan eat! We eat everything execpt meat, honey, eggs, dairy, gelatin, and anything else that comes from an animal! Everything else better watch out, expecially brocoli LoL!!

  8. Vegans don't eat anything derived from animals! So:

    * No meat

    * No eggs

    * No milk

    :)

  9. Meat, animal products - eggs, dairy, honey, gelatin, stock.  shouldn't wear leather either.

  10. No Honey

    No Living Yeast

    No Gelatin (found in wobbly jellies and mainly derived from cow bones)

    No Flesh (meat, fish, fowl)

    No Eggs

    No Dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt)

    No By-Products of the above

    EDIT: Wow, I have got 2 minus points for telling the true facts – how very, very interesting and very, very puzzling!

    .

  11. vegans don't eat anything that comes from an animal

  12. Everything but meat fish and dairy, ie most things. It's not a difficult concept. If it comes from an animal it's out. If it's grown in a field it's in, basically.

  13. vegans dont eat

    eggs

    meat [which includes fish]

    milk

    they dont use products that are tested on animals,

    certain deodarnts, makeup, hairproducts, shampoos, you can find a list on peta.org of companies that do and dont test on animals,

    and a lot of vegans dont believe in taking medicines, cause most are tested on animals, but some vegans do because of health reasons

  14. vegans do not eat anything of animal origin, including cheese, meat, eggs, cake - practically nothing except bread and vegetables and fruits. you can't even have chocolate as that is from milk and milk is from cows.
