  2. my next door neighbour had just got one of those new st.bernards that they have crossed with a rottweiller. trouble was yesterday it bit his leg off then went for help!!!

  3. A blue staffordshire bull terrier http://www.ragingstormkennels.co.uk/

  4. A great dane...because you like big dogs. Great Danes are great for single people too, because they absolutly attach to you and show you they love you. GD dont need a lot of room and they are very gentle. However they do eat a lot, and need a lot of exercise (at least when they are young they do) and they need to be trained WELL! Good Luck finding your pal!

  5. leonbergers.  they are very similar to a Saint...BUT they don't drool and with daily walks would do quite well.

  6. I recommend a girlfriend and let her choose the dog.

  7. Staffy, my one is my boy!  I have a shared garden out the back and he does his business there, then I take him with me for walks to beach, park etc.  They're loyal and are soft as anything when treated properly, though other dogs they may still growl at occasionally.  Go for a staffy, they're small compact and trainable.  Mine is a staffy jack russel cross and he is perfect for my lifestyle and is a lovely boy.

  8. Border collie, GSD, visla, weimaraner, mastiff, tea-cup yorkie.

    (only kidding about the yorkie...)

  9. get a jack russell terrier those are cool dogs

  10. You could rescue a Retired Racing Greyhound.  They don't need a huge yard. They are 40mph couch potatoes and wonderful dogs. Plus you would be doing something good. St. Bernard's are ok they drool and slobber a lot. Plus the grooming issue. If you got a Greyhound you would have something different.

  11. how about a spaniel they are very nice dogs

  12. those kind of dogs are far too big there good dogs all the same but hard work, they would need regular exercise if your garden is small. Why not get a staffordshire terrior, there good dogs, or a labrador? maybe a collie?

  13. well if u have a small yard it is not a good idea those kind of dogs need alot of excersise and they r for more experienced dog owners if u want a big dog maybe a collie or a sharpay

  14. st bernads r way to bi and extremeli expensive to keep you should have a look through books etc for some smaller less demanding dogs e.g a whipet they dont eat much dont need to much exercise although vet bills could b high have a look on a website called www.petplanet.co.uk and have a look at breed profiles and it will take you through different breeds u could also try terriers or labs their great!!!

    hope i helped

    GOOD LUCK

  15. First of all.. unless you have alot of time on your hands.. DO NOT get a sheltie or any sort of collie. They can be very high maitnence. (I have a sheltie and she loves to bark for hours on end) I'd get a lab. Labs are easy to take care of.. easy to please and they'll love you. They'll lay around the house all day if you want them too.. just good company and theyll play and have fun still. St. Bernards are pretty big and alot to take care of i wouldnt go that way.
