I know if you train the dog while it's young it'll

probably get along. I've heard of Newfoundlands

taking care of mother cat's kittens, but what

other breeds do you think are good with more

than 5 cats.

  1. labs

my chocolate lab is sooo good with my three cats.

we didn't get him as a puppy but when we first got him he was mean to our cats but when he got older and we got a kitten he was nice to her even tho my kitten would attack his tail:]]]]

  2. Ones with muzzels on.

  3. I once had a blue healer and two ginger tabby cats who we got together when they were pups and kits. And they lived for about 10 years and were the best of friends for life. They slept together, ate together and played together.

The moral of the story cats will like dogs better when they are young.

  4. I) labrador retrievers

    2)beagles

    3)basset hounds

    4)pugs

  5. you should probably get a little dog, like a pug or chihuahua, so that if it messes with the cats they can just kik his *** and it wont happen again. i dont know how tough your cats are but mine is 7lbs and my Labrador is scared of it so i wouldent worry too much... just dont get a dog breed that is known for being violent...

  12. Hi! :)

It really depends on the dog and how they are raised.  My Miniature Dachshunds are great with cats, I have also had a Bulldog that was, Bassett Hound, Pug, etc.

  13. I think any kind of puppy of your choice would be ok for your home of 5 cats, just make sure he doesn't have any psychological problems, like getting dropped on the head.  But generally you can raise any puppy with kitties so that it has adapted to living with them from a young age, just know he might think he is one someday.

  14. Any non-terrier or non-hound should do fine. Terriers and hunting dogs have high prey drives, making them think of cats as lunch.

I have 8 cats, and a Pug. She loves them to death, and wasn't raised around them.

  15. It will all depend on what type of life the dog has had, Get a puppy and then raise it wit cats around and if it has a good childhood then it will be perfect around Cats

    ^^
