  1. It, sounds like 5 iron threw pitching wedge.  I have a 4 iron hybrid, cause i never seem to be abel to hit my 4 iron square and solid. so i bet there are more people that dont use 4 irons and below, and they only use 5 - pw.  but i dont know y they wouldnt use a sw, or a gap or lob wedge.

  2. Yes it would include the five iron through pitching wedge.

  3. I think you're on the right track of thinking.  That is what i would be inclined to think if I were buying a club set listed as 5-PW.

  4. You are correct sir.  A set composed of 5-pw is set up this way due to the ever increasing use of hybrids.  A lot of people replace their 3 and 4 irons with hybrid clubs.  If you buy this set, make sure and pick up at least one hybrid (2 would be preferred) to make up for the distance gaps that you will have due to the lack of a 3 or a 4 iron in your bag.

  5. Yes thats exactly what it means...def a good buy since you rarely ever use those lower number irons

  6. you would get the 5 iron 6, 7, 8, 9, pw.  you will want to look into a sand wedge and some sort of hybrid club to make up for not having a 3 or 4 iron

  7. That is what it means., but i would disagree with the comment that you don't use the Long irons.  the lower the number the more distance you get so unless your just playing executive (short distance) cources. you will need long irons or hybrids. They will get you the distance you need out of the rough.  Hope this helps.
