They are movies played in your head by your subconcious, and they mean nothing. It's just random bits of memory strung together in incoherent orders.

Dreams are many things. The most common use of dreams, is to express emotions, feelings, and ideas that your conscious has been denying and surpressing. Another reason is to focus on things that are troubling, or important to you. They're also meant to prepare you for situations. These situations aren't always cases that your brain expects to encounter. The last, and probably the least common use of dreams, is an express of imagination and creativity. Sometimes when you see something that intrigues you, like a movie or a painting, you might have a dream about it. Or your mind might go on some extreme tangent to balance off the ammount of reality clogging your brain.
