What dose red blue yellow/gold wire mean?

i got this wire that i need to connect to something and some on tell me what red blue and yellow means (ex) red i think means positive.

  1. red is normally always positive. The other two may be your speakers. It depends on the type of stereo you are hooking up.  


  2. if your HU is a pioneer then yellow is for constant power. meaning that goes to the positive lead of your battery or a constant 12v source. red is for switched power usually hooked up to the accessory switch on your ignition. blue is your remote turn on wire used to remotely switch on car audio equipment like amps, eq's, xovers and such.

    thats if your head unit is a pioneer.
