I already konw what I think it should be but I want to know what YOU think. I'm 6 feet tall and I weigh 160 lbs. In other words, I'm skinny. To become a competitive mixed martial artist, should I put on 10 lbs to become a welterweight, 25 lbs to become a middleweight, or go nuts with the protein powder and the legal supplements, putting on 45 pounds to become a light heavyweight?

  1. I would go to light weight you dont have top walk around at 155 all the time just cut to there keep in mind all the supplemts can only do so much alot of your sizer is genetic you may run into the porblem of packing on weight then being to big to get to 155 but your then  small 170 i have not seen you to know your body type(fat %') and stuff but i would do 155 maybe work out use a little protein just get stronger your 5'10 and strong 155 your in great shape then

  2. My measurements what would you know. Stay the way you are, having the lankyness benefits. Just ask someone on the wrong end of one of my kicks or choke holds. Also when it comes to grappling I'm myself am able to get out of certain holds that most big guys would have trouble. Size isn't everything. Stay were you are at.

  3. drop 5 go to lw.

  4. Lightweight (155).  You should pack on 10 pounds of muscle, then learn how to cut water weight for the weigh in.  Most mma fighters weight 10 to 15 pounds more at fight time than they did at the weigh-ins due to cutting weight and then re- hydrating.  Tito Ortiz reportedly cuts more than 20 pounds!  That's why Michael Bisping dropped down to 185.  His natural weight was only around 205, so most other light heavyweights were actually much bigger than him in the cage.

  5. If you are naturally 160. It would not make any sense to go up to 170. Most cats that compete at 170 walk around weighing 185+. You'd be at a huge disadvantage. Drop to 55 or even better drop to 45 and use the reach advantage!!!

  6. light weight

  7. Drop 5 and be a lightweight. Nothing wrong with being a skinny lightweight, look at nick diaz.

  8. If you're strong right now and notice that you could do well in a lighter division, go with that. Even though that is not one of your options, it should be though. A 6' LW would be good for you. You're fighting smaller guys, height-wise. You could do very well.

  9. It all depends on your preference. 170 would probably be a smart choice, but if you feel you can put on some good weight I would say 185. 6' ,185 is a great size for a middleweight. h**l you could even cut 5 pounds and be a lightweight!
