  1. I think the last one is the best, but you have to look at your body type and your skin tone. Having either one not look good with the style & color could make the whole package look less than flattering.

  2. NOT number 3.

  3. I would say any of the them would be fine but I would stay away from really bright colors.  Usually women wear black or another dark color as it's more formal.  If you show up in a bright pink dress, you'll look more like you're headed to the prom than a formal military function.  I personally like black and white for these events.   You also don't want to have a huge slit or lots of cleavage showing at these events---classy is the way to go!   Keep it tasteful and simple and you'll make your man proud.

    Edit:

I actually like this one for a military ball:

  4. I like the first one the best for a military ball. You want to look nice but you don't want to stand out too much by being too flashy. Remember, this isn't a school formal where people are trying to be as trendy as possible. This is a formal military function. I always try to look classy/formal.

  5. The first no is the best!!!!

  6. I like th efirst two, but that is my taste, I would not wear the strapless one, our last CSM complained their was too much cleavage at the last military ball.

  7. Number 2 =)

  8. If you are as thin as the model, then any or all of them would be a good choice.  If you have any weight to you, begin your search again.

  9. I personally like #5; however, you MUST remember that you are not at a Military ball to draw eyes upon yourself, but rather to present yourself as a class-act partner [even if for merely one evening] for your date.

Darker colours, very little glitz, and a proper fit [PLEASE, not too tight and little to no cleavage!]

If you pick a gown which is strapless, also find a muted, but elegant shawl or shrug or bolero.  You should also select non-flashy accessories/clutch/earrings/locket.

When you feel comfortable, you will feel like a sophisticated woman and be able to enjoy yourself with the new experience.

    Have fun...be a lady.

  10. And please do read their dress code requirement.  Some of those dresses would make one look like a circus clown.

  11. i had to attend a class on officer attire and what i could and could not wear to events being Army wife. we were told to wear conservative stuff. but take account for your age. those are all "ok", but what do the backs look like. you arent suppose to show anything to reveling, no slits up the leg, no low back or clevage. trust me if you do, they will talk. not #1 for sure. you cant do the slit, it is not appropriate. anything that covers the shoulders is what they want, but not "young". you still need to be careful as to what you choose.

in the USMC they arent that particular about it. but the Army seems to have higher standards for their people.

just keep that in mind when choosing a dress. i am only 25 and been to over 10 balls. since i am younger i still have the same perspective. it is suppose to be fun, but you still want to make sure you "fit in".
