  1. Buy a 3/8" nut driver bit for your drill.

  2. Depending on the length of the lag, use an electric impact wrench. This is an version of the ones you hear going at auto shops. Some electric drills have this feature on a smaller scale.  If you do this every day you are killing yourself.

  3. If you are trying to save time drill a 1/4" hole and drive them in with a big hammer. I do it all the time.

  4. if your installing 3/8" diameter lag bolts you'll need to drill a 5/16" pilot hole to accept the lag bolt and then use a electric impact to drive it in . i doubt you'll find anything that will have a 9/16" socket that will fit into a drill chuck unless you fabricate something .

  5. you should drill a 1/4 pilot hole first so the wood doesnt split then switch to your 3/8 nut driver tip to install

  6. u want to use a air wrench or electric wrench with the correct size socket on it....u can use a electric drill with a scoket driver on the end.....
