What drills are good to get my girls in shape for cheer?

  3. Cheerleaders must be fit almost everywhere. First of all, cheerleaders need to be flexible so varieties of stretches will be needed. Try pike stretches, straddles, bridges, etc.

    They also need leg and arm muscles, especially bases. Have them do wall sits for a good amount amount of time. It will tighten up their thighs. Push ups are a classic to help with arm strength so have them to that. Also, try having them doing hand stands on walls. Their weight will lead to their arms so they will need to keep themselves up.
