What drum kit should I get?

Hi,

I'm a drummer that has been playing for 8 months and I still don't have a drum kit! Please help me find a good drum kit that's not too pricey! I was thinking of getting a Gretsch Calina with Sabian XS cymbols....

gretsch are nice.  8 months isn't long- don't spend too much unless you're sure you're going to keep it up.  does that come with hardware?

i play tama because you get more for your money than with some other brands and the hardware is good.  its a help if you know what sort of music you want to play so you can pick a kit with the right sizes.  pearl kits sound good-  but their hardware is a bit average, the dw pdp kits look alright , i haven't played one but i would think they'd be decent and yamaha are awesome but their cheaper kits are pricier than other brands.

be aware that most entry-mid range kits have crappy skins so you might want to upgrade to some remos at some stage.
